HEAD OF MARKETING FILA
Athleisure …
Trend. Meiner Meinung nach, ist
Athleisure das neue Casual. Oder
vielmehr ein „schräger Hybrid“ aus
Business Casual und Sportkleidung,
also im Großen und Ganzen eine
ganz eigene, neue Kategorie.
Zwei Casual-Trends – Haltbarkeit
und Komfort – verschmelzen zu
einem, und das macht die Sache
so vielseitig. Auch das Styling
verändert sich. Es gibt kaum noch
Unterschiede zwischen Business
Casual und Sportkleidung. Vielleicht
auch, weil Materialien aus dem
Sportbereich wie Elasthan, Lycra
und andere synthetische Fasern für
den Alltagslook, aber auch für das
Business-Outfit geeignet sind. Und
im Gegensatz zum zweckgebundenen
Design von Sportkleidung passt
Athleisure überall. Und genau diese
Vielseitigkeit macht diese neue
Sparte für Verbraucher so attraktiv.
Interessant ist auch die lange Haltbarkeit.
Oft sind die technologisch
ausgeklügelten Fasern zusätzlich
noch bügelfrei und schützen vor
Geruchsentwicklung - das sind
enorme Vorteile, die auch der Kunde
schätzt. Man will sich heute nicht
mehr aufwändig um seine Kleidung
kümmern müssen. Die Technologie
hat in sämtlichen Bereichen des Alltags
Einzug gehalten – wen erstaunt
es da, dass dieser Fortschritt auch
beim Thema Bekleidung gefragt ist.
Der Siegeszug von Athleisure steht
für größere kulturelle Umwälzungen
und geht Hand in Hand mit dem
wachsenden Fokus auf Gesundheit
und Fitness. Athleisure wird daher
kein kurzlebiger Trend sein, sondern
meiner Meinung nach, einen nachhaltigen
Bestand in der Branche
haben.«
… is the new casual!
The company Fila was founded in 1911 by the brothers with the same
name in the North Italian city Biella in Piemont. In the glorious
1980s, Boris Becker had some of his greatest moments in tennis
wearing the casual sportswear and lifestyle brand. sportFACHHAN-
DEL Fashion asked Konrad Nowak, Head of Marketing of Fila, how
important the topics fitness, luxury gym and Athleisure will become
in the future for the industry.
»Actually, Athleisure is a mix
of fitness/gym fashion and
leisurewear. Each big retailer
tries to follow the trend of the current
decade. In the meantime, it has
become clear that the movement is
more than just a trend. In my opinion,
Athleisure is the new casual or rather
a “strange hybrid” of business casual
and sportswear. This means, it is,
by and large, an entirely new and
independent category. Two trends
of in casual fashion, durability and
comfort, are becoming one; and
this is the reason why Athleisure is
so versatile. The styling is changing
too. There are hardly any differences
anymore between the business
casual segment and sports fashion.
This is, perhaps, due to the fact that
materials from the sportswear category,
for example elastane, Lycra and
other synthetic fabrics, are suitable
for the everyday look as well as for the
business outfit. Above that, Athleisure
is always appropriate, in contrast to
the earmarked design of sportswear.
And this versatility is the reason why
this new category is so attractive
for consumers. The long durability
is another interesting feature.
Frequently, the sophisticated fibres
are additionally crease-resistant and
odour-inhibiting. These are huge benefits
and the customers appreciate
them. Nowadays, they don’t want to
make much effort to keep the clothes
in shape. Technology has found its
way into all areas of everyday life. It is
thus not surprising that technological
advances play a role in fashion too.
The success of Athleisure stands for
huge cultural transformations and
goes hand in hand with the growing
significance of health and fitness.
Therefore, Athleisure won’t be a shortlived
trend, but a lasting part of the
fashion industry, in my view.«
