Falconiformes Greifvögel<br />
Total = 1765: 428 mounts, 630 skins, 167 skeletons, 111 skulls, 480 sets of eggs<br />
Zwei Drittel der Objekte (1191) stammen aus Europa, davon die meisten aus<br />
der Schweiz.Wichtige Donatoren sind Wildhüter (Jagdinspektorat* des Kantons<br />
<strong>Bern</strong>), Mitarbeiter des Autobahnwerkhofs/Autobahnpolizei* (Kanton <strong>Bern</strong>) und<br />
die Betreiber von Vogelpflegestationen (W.Dieth*, H.Herren*).<br />
Am stärksten vertreten sind Sperber (136 Bälge, 27 Skelette), Mäusebussard<br />
(128 Bälge, 15 Skelette), Turmfalke (61 Bälge, 13 Skelette) und Habicht (35 Bälge,<br />
12 Skelette); vom Steinadler sind 19 Bälge und 12 komplette Skelette vorhanden.Von<br />
den drei häufigsten Arten werden nur noch Belege aus der lokalen Brutpopulation<br />
(Funde aus den Monaten April–Juli) in die Sammlung aufgenommen.<br />
Two thirds of the spec<strong>im</strong>ens are from Europe, predominantly from Switzerland.The<br />
most <strong>im</strong>portant contributors were game wardens, personnel of the highway maintenance<br />
base and of private care stations for injured birds.Good samples are present of Sparrowhawk<br />
Accipiter nisus (133 skins, 26 skeletons), Common Buteo Buteo buteo (128<br />
skins, 15 skeletons), Kestrel Falco tinnunculus (61 skins, 13 skeletons), Goshawk Accipiter<br />
gentilis (35 skins, 12 skeletons) and Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetos (19 skins, 12 skeletons).Of<br />
the three best-represented species today only individuals of the local breeding<br />
population (e.g. collected between April and July) are added to the collection.<br />

Picidae Spechte<br />
Total = 571: 165 mounts, 246 skins, 29 skeletons, 21 skulls, 110 sets of eggs<br />
Diese Vogelfamilie ist in der Sammlung nicht nur mit europäischen Spechten<br />
(252 Ex.), sondern auch mit zahlreichen neotropischen Arten (174 Ex.), v.a. aus<br />
der Sammlung Göldi* vertreten.Im europäischen Material überwiegt der Buntspecht<br />
Picoides major mit 98 Ex., gefolgt vom Grünspecht Picus viridis<br />
(49 Ex.), Grauspecht Picus canus (36 Ex.), Wendehals Jynx torquilla (36Ex.),<br />
Schwarzspecht Dryocopus martius (22 Ex.) und Kleinspecht Picoides minor<br />
(20 Ex.). Unter den südamerikanischen Arten sind von 6 Arten Serien von > 10 Ex.<br />
vorhanden.<br />
Woodpeckers are represented with nice series of the more common European species,<br />
but also with 174 Neotropical spec<strong>im</strong>ens; most of these belong to the E.A. Goeldi* collection.Of<br />
6 South American species samples of > 10 individuals are present, e.g. of Dryocopus<br />
lineatus (19) and Campephilus rubricollis (14) MG<br />
Strigiformes Eulen<br />
Total = 739: 166 mounts, 327 skins, 63 skeletons, 69 skulls, 122 sets of eggs<br />
Mit 739 Ex.ist die Vogelgruppe in der Sammlung gut vertreten.Rund 2 ⁄3 stammen<br />
aus der Schweiz, viele davon sind Verkehrsopfer (vgl.Marti 1993).Auch die<br />
Göldi*-Sammlung enthält zahlreiche Belege aus Brasilien (66 Ex.).<br />
