The skulls and skins are the result of various trapping campaigns in the Canton of Bern
between 1970 and 1990.The main part was determined with biometric methods by Brigitte
Reutter.

Total = 794: 38 mounts, 329 skins, 17 skeletons, 623 skulls, 61 spirit specimens,
83 nests, 54 samples of cached food
Das Schwergewicht bilden die Exemplare der Coll.Airoldi*, die zwischen
1973–76 im Mittelland (Kanton VD), im Jura (VD, NE) und in den Alpen (Val d’ Illiez
VS) gesammelt wurden.Weitere 103 Schädel und 57 Bälge stammen aus Sammelaktionen
des NMBE im bernischen Mittelland (1956–69).
The main part of the collection is the material collected by J.-P. Airoldi, orginating from
the Swiss Plateau (Canton of Vaud), the Jura Mountains (Cantons of Vaud and Neuchâtel)
and the Swiss Alps (Val d’Illiez, Canton of Valais). 103 skulls and 57 skins are the result of
trappings carried out in the Bernese part of the Swiss Plateau by the NMBE in 1956–69.

Total = 91: 6 mounts, 84 skins, 3 skeletons, 19 skulls, 1 spirit specimen
91 Ex.dieser neotropischen Säugetiere – 84 Bradypus variegatus und 6 B. tridactylus
– stammen praktisch alle aus der Sammlung E.A. Göldis* und wurden
auf dem Areal des Museums und des Zoologischen Gartens in Pará (MPEG) gesammelt.
84 specimens of Bradypus variegatus and 6 of B. tridactylus are practically all taken on
the terrain of the museum and zoological garden in Belém, Pará (Brazil, Goeldi collection).

Canidae Hundeartige (Wildcaniden)
Total = 1283: 64 mounts, 57 skins, 41 skeletons, 1057 skulls (144 Canis sp., 857
Vulpes vulpes)
Das Schwergewicht bildet der Rotfuchs* Vulpes vulpes, vorwiegend aus der
Schweiz (1967–78).Die restlichen Caniden gehen überwiegend auf Th.Studer*
zurück. 34 Schädel stammen von verschiedenen südamerikanischen Arten (Coll.
Göldi*).
The numerous specimens of Vulpes vulpes, mostly from Switzerland and from the
years 1967–78, form the most important part of the wild canids collection.Most of the remaining
material goes back to Theophil Studer’s collecting activity, and 34 skulls of Neotropical
species belong to the Goeldi collection.
