Glick – How Does it Work?
The centrepiece of the patented Glick System is a bistable
element. In the default state the element opens the shoe
by arching of the insole, permitting the foot to readily slip
into the shoe. The wearer closes the shoe by standing on
the foot and thus switches the element into the second
position by applying the weight of the body. On walking
the bistable element in remains elastic in the direction of
flexing of the foot. On taking the shoe off, the wearer
blocks the sole at the heel and moves the foot upwards,
whereupon the bistable element readily returns to its
starting position through the action of the force applied.
In the closed state the Glick System offers optimum
hold. The sensation of walking does not differ from that
experienced in conventional shoes. The name coined for
the system “Glick” contains elements from the German
phrase “Hineingleiten, klicken, glücklich sein”, meaning
so much as: “Slip in, click, happiness.”
Glick – For Whom?
The Glick System can be used in trend shoes just as well
as in children’s, comfort, or health shoes. In the case of
fashionable women’s and men’s shoes the Glick System
offers the advantage of easy putting on and taking off

Herzstück des patentierten Glick-Systems ist ein bistabiles
Element. Im Grundzustand öffnet das Element den Schuh
durch Wölben der Brandsohle, so dass der Fuß leicht in
den Schuh hineinschlüpfen kann. Der Träger verschließt
den Schuh, indem er sich auf den Fuß stellt und so durch
den Druck des Körpergewichts das Element in die zweite
Position bringt. Beim Gehen ist das bistabile Element in
Abrollrichtung elastisch. Beim Ausziehen blockiert der
Träger die Sohle an der Ferse und zieht den Fuß hoch,
wobei das bistabile Element durch die einwirkende Kraft
problemlos in seine Ausgangsstellung zurückspringt.
Das Glick-System bietet im geschlossenen Zustand optimalen
Halt. Beim Laufgefühl gibt es keinen Unterschied
zu herkömmlichen Schuhen. Das Kunstwort „Glick“ ist
übrigens ein Konstrukt aus „Hineingleiten, klicken, glücklich
sein“, wie das Glick-Team erläutert.
