Funding for Flute Bands<br />
Mr G Robinson asked the Minister of Culture, Arts and Leisure how many flute bands have received<br />
funding from her Department, or its arm’s-length bodies, in the last twelve months.<br />

Ms Ní Chuilín: Funding in support of bands in the north of <strong>Ireland</strong> is disbursed through the Arts Council<br />
and the Ulster Scots Agency. My Department also allocates funding <strong>to</strong> bands through the Community<br />
Festivals Fund administered by the local councils.<br />
96 flute bands received funding in the 2011 calendar year through the Ulster Scots Agency and 16<br />
received funding in the 2011/12 financial year through the Arts Council and Community Festivals Fund.<br />
Grant Awards from the Irish Language Broadcast Fund and Ulster-Scots<br />
Broadcast Fund<br />
Miss M McIlveen asked the Minister of Culture, Arts and Leisure <strong>to</strong> detail the companies and projects<br />
that received grant awards from the (i) Irish Language Broadcast Fund; and (ii) Ulster-Scots Broadcast<br />
Fund in (a) 2011; and (b) 2012.<br />
