stacked fi gures. Wēi, danger, is above and jī, opportunity, is below.<br />

As the complete character implies, what initially poses as danger is a<br />

cover for opportunity.<br />

I have road-tested this quick exercise on thousands. It’s prett y cool.<br />

Try it as you read along. Stand up, get that blood fl owing. Hold nothing.<br />

Shake out. Put one arm straight ahead, index fi nger pointing<br />

directly in front <strong>of</strong> you.<br />

Now reach that arm as far back behind you as possible, while<br />

keeping the rest <strong>of</strong> your body still facing forward. Peek back and<br />

see how far you stretched your arm. Turn your head around to look<br />

without moving your arm. Notice what you are pointing to behind<br />

you. Shake out. Assume the identical starting location and repeat<br />

the exercise, yet this time reach farther. Peek again. Did you point<br />

beyond your fi rst try? Remarkably, every person I have engaged<br />
