i. When the regimental comm<strong>and</strong>er or adjutant gives comm<strong>and</strong>s for<br />

<strong>drill</strong> movements to be executed by the troops, the comm<strong>and</strong> is given in a<br />

voice just loud enough to be distinctly heard by subordinate comm<strong>and</strong>ers<br />

<strong>and</strong> in a manner so as not to cause executor by the troops. Subordinate<br />

battalion <strong>and</strong> independent company comm<strong>and</strong>ers, in succession from right to<br />

left in line or front to rear in column, then give the necessary<br />

preparatory comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> comm<strong>and</strong> of execution for the movement. For<br />

example, the regimental adjutant orders PRESENT ARMS in a manner which<br />

does not dem<strong>and</strong> execution by the troops. Each subordinate battalion <strong>and</strong><br />

independent company, in succession, executes the movement only when the<br />

comm<strong>and</strong> PRESENT, ARMS is given by its comm<strong>and</strong>er.<br />

j. The color guard <strong>and</strong> color battalion are posted within the<br />

regimental formation in a similar manner to the posting of the color guard<br />

<strong>and</strong> color company within a battalion formation (paragraph 1O-4b).<br />

11-2. STAFF<br />

The regimental staff forms, changes position, <strong>and</strong> marches in a<br />

manner similar to that prescribed for the battalion staff (see par. 10-3).<br />

11-3. TO DISMISS THE REGIMENT<br />

To dismiss the regiment, the regimental comm<strong>and</strong>er orders the<br />

battalion comm<strong>and</strong>ers to dismiss their organizations.<br />
