(3) After your salute is returned, move your left h<strong>and</strong> smartly<br />

back to your side <strong>and</strong> look to the front.<br />

k. Rests With the Guidon.<br />

(1) Parade Rest From Order Guidon.<br />

(a) The comm<strong>and</strong> is PARADE REST. It is executed in one count,<br />

<strong>and</strong> may be given only when halted at attention.<br />

(b) On REST, move your left foot smartly 12 inches to the<br />

left. Place your left h<strong>and</strong> behind you, just below the<br />

belt. Keep your fingers straight <strong>and</strong> touching, palm flat<br />

<strong>and</strong> facing rear. At the same time, straighten your right<br />

arm <strong>and</strong> your grasp, as shown in figure 6-8, so the staff<br />

of the guidon tilts forward at 30 degrees. The ferrule<br />

remains in the same position as at order guidon. The flat<br />

side of the spearhead remains facing front (see fig. 6-8).<br />
