movements, <strong>and</strong> units employ formations as prescribed in Part I for the<br />
squad, platoon, company, battalion, <strong>and</strong> regiment.<br />
b. Formations for <strong>ceremonies</strong> may be modified by comm<strong>and</strong>ing officers<br />
when the nature of the ground or exceptional circumstances require such<br />
changes. Normally, modifications are generally limited to adjusting the<br />
paces specified for intervals <strong>and</strong> distances in a given formation to fit<br />
the ground used for conduct of the ceremony.<br />
12-6. ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS<br />
The organization, uniform, arms, <strong>and</strong> equipment of units<br />
participating in <strong>ceremonies</strong>, along with any other necessary administrative<br />
information, are prescribed by the comm<strong>and</strong>er of troops, or may be<br />
prescribed by unit st<strong>and</strong>ing operating procedure to preclude the necessity<br />
of frequent repetition in individual ceremony orders.<br />
12-7. NAVY CEREMONIES CONDUCTED INDOORS<br />
When special circumstances, such as use of gymnasiums, hangars,<br />
<strong>and</strong> hangar bays dictate, the comm<strong>and</strong>ing officer may direct that<br />
participants <strong>and</strong> guests alike remain covered <strong>and</strong> render appropriate<br />
salutes as required by the particular ceremony. In such instances,<br />
comm<strong>and</strong>ing officers will detail the specific requirements for remaining<br />
covered <strong>and</strong> rendering appropriate salutes.<br />
