Description. Length 2.3-3.3 mm. Body moderately robust,<br />

black. Pubescence consisting <strong>of</strong> white, conspicuous, moderately coarse,<br />

sparse scales. Frons 1.1-1.3 times wider than tip <strong>of</strong> rostrum. Rostrum <strong>of</strong><br />

male evenly, moderately curved, l.t-1.2 times longer than pronotum;<br />

sides, in dorsal view, expanded at antennal insertions, converging to<br />

apical third; surface coarsely punctured. Rostrum <strong>of</strong> female slightly<br />

curved, 1.5-1.8 times longer than pronotum; sides, in dorsal view,<br />

slightly expanded at antennal insertions; basal two-thirds moderately<br />

coarsely punctured; apical third finely punctured; apex shining.<br />

Antennae inserted in basal 0.2-0.3 (male) or in basal 0.2 (female) <strong>of</strong><br />

rostrum. Eye moderately convex. Pronotum at base 1. 1 times wider than<br />

long; sides broadly rounded; disc moderately strongly convex' flattened<br />

apically and basally, with deep punctures; interpuncture spaces convex,<br />

alutaceous. Elytra 1.4-1.5 times longer than wide; striae deeply<br />

impressed; interstriae about twice as wide as striae, flat to slightly<br />

convex, each interstria with 1-3 rows <strong>of</strong> frne punctures bearing fine<br />

scales; interstria 9 with 1 long specialized seta; interstria 3 with short<br />

setae. Tibiae in male mucronate; tibiae <strong>of</strong> forelegs with minute simple<br />

mucro; tibiae <strong>of</strong> middle and hind legs with larger subdentate mucrones'<br />

Distribution. Manitoba to Alberta, south to Iowa, Montana, and<br />

North Dakota. Alberta: Scandia. Saskatchewan: Aweme, Duck Lake,<br />

and Stony Mountain. Saskatchewan: Roche Percee.<br />
