Description. Length 2.4 mm. Body elongate, moderately robust,<br />
black. Pubescence conspicuous, consisting <strong>of</strong>dense, white scales, these<br />
not concealing integument, uniformly placed except slightly denser on a<br />
short sutural stripe immediately behind scutellum. Frons as wide as<br />
dorsal tip <strong>of</strong> rostrum, irregularly punctured. Rostrum, in both sexes,<br />
slightly curved, subcylindrical, as long as pronotum; sides, in dorsal<br />
vieq slightly expanded over antennal insertion; surface dull,<br />
punctured, with scales to near tip; tip glabrous, shining. Antennae<br />
inserted at basal 0.3 <strong>of</strong> rostrum. Eyes slightly convex, nearly round.<br />
Pronotum subcylindrical, as wide as long at base; sides nearly parallel in<br />
basal two-thirds, slightly narrowed to apex; disc slightly convex, with<br />
fine deep punctures; interpuncture spaces much narrower than<br />
diameter <strong>of</strong> punctures. Elytra 1.7 times longer than wide; striae deeply<br />
impressed, moderately broad, each with 1 row <strong>of</strong> scales, these usually<br />
slightly coarser than scales on adjacent interstriae; interstriae slightly<br />
convex, about twice as wide as striae, each interstria with 3 or 4 rows <strong>of</strong><br />
minute punctures bearing fine, elongate scales.<br />
Distribution. Known only in Saskatchewan and Wyoming.<br />
Saskatchewan: Hatton.<br />
Comments. This species is known from only two specimens.<br />
Adults are similar to those <strong>of</strong> A. punctinasunl but may be distinguished<br />
by the characters summarized in the key to species and in the comments<br />
underA. puttctinasum. Nothing is known <strong>of</strong> the life history or habits <strong>of</strong><br />
this species.<br />
