Delayed transplanting
Seedbed preparation and seedling raising start in June-July with
available rainwater.
Apply all the locally recommended dose of NPK at final puddling in
September after the recession of flood.
Transplant 45-60-day-old seedlings at four to six seedlings/hill.
Post-flood broadcast (wet sowing)
Select a very early maturing variety suitable for direct seeding.
Soak seeds for 24 hours and incubate them for 48 hours.
Puddle the land and level properly.
Apply half of the recommended nitrogen and full phosphorus and
potassium at final puddling to facilitate mixing with the soil. Top-dress
the remaining 50% nitrogen at panicle initiation stage.
