Delayed transplanting<br />

Seedbed preparation and seedling raising start in June-July with<br />

available rainwater.<br />

Apply all the locally recommended dose of NPK at final puddling in<br />

September after the recession of flood.<br />

Transplant 45-60-day-old seedlings at four to six seedlings/hill.<br />

Post-flood broadcast (wet sowing)<br />

Select a very early maturing variety suitable for direct seeding.<br />

Soak seeds for 24 hours and incubate them for 48 hours.<br />

Puddle the land and level properly.<br />

Apply half of the recommended nitrogen and full phosphorus and<br />

potassium at final puddling to facilitate mixing with the soil. Top-dress<br />

the remaining 50% nitrogen at panicle initiation stage.<br />
