Post-war years also saw a great expansion <strong>of</strong> the understanding <strong>of</strong> structural<br />

behaviour and analysis <strong>of</strong> indeterminate interconnected structural systems. <strong>The</strong><br />

state-<strong>of</strong>-the-art before the war generally consisted <strong>of</strong> assuming pin-jointed<br />

connections between different structural elements and manually solving simultaneous<br />
