TOP: A DISPIRITED MOHAMMAD MOSSADEQ drops his head to the table during his trial where, ironically, he was accused of committing treason against his own government. In fact, it was Mossadeq who had a reputation for honesty and integrity, strongly opposing foreign meddling in Iran at the time when most Iranians perceived many of their economic and political hardships as originating from such influence.
