The trophy features two tiers. The upper tier features a player<br />

atop a chalice on a wood platform supported by two columns.<br />

The lower tier features an angel atop a column. The engraved<br />

yellow metal plaque affixed to the lower wood base reads<br />

“Elgin Baylor/ Most Popular Player/ Los Angeles Lakers/<br />

1961-62/ Presented by/ KHJ Los Angeles.”<br />

signed by J.G. Taylor Spink, publisher of The Sporting News. The 1960 NBA All-Star Game was played on January 16, 1962, in St. Louis,<br />

Missouri. The certificate is housed in a leather presentation folder with “The Sporting News’/ All-Star Award” embossed on the cover. Included<br />

in the folder is a sheet listing the players who were named first and second team NBA All-Stars for the 1961-62 season.<br />
