ELGIN B<strong>AY</strong>LOR 1975 BLACK ATHLETES HALL OF FAME RING<br />
A ring presented to Elgin Baylor by the Black Athletes Hall of Fame on March 20,<br />
1975, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ring was presented at a dinner hosted at Caesars<br />
Palace, where 14 former greats of different sports were enshrined. The 10k<br />
yellow gold ring centers a synthetic star sapphire gauged at 11.7 mm in width<br />
and in high relief and reads “ Black Athletes/ Hall of Fame” around the center<br />
stone. One side of the engraved shank reads “Elgin Baylor” and below features<br />
two hands shaking with the words “Excellence/ Integrity/ Ability/ Pride” engraved<br />
below. The other side of the shank reads “Basketball” and below features<br />
the profile of two men with the words “Excellence/ Integrity/ Ability/ Pride” engraved<br />
below. Size 12 1/2; 19.9 grams.<br />
