A pair of programs from the 10th Annual Greatest Sports Legends dinner<br />
held at Bally’s Park Place Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on October<br />
23, 1982. The programs have been signed on the back covers by many of<br />
the legendary sports figures that were in attendance at the dinner. The back<br />
cover of the first program has been signed by baseball players and managers<br />
Joe DiMaggio, Willie Mays, Tom Lasorda, Bob Gibson, Earl Weaver,<br />
Bob Lemon, Bob Feller, Al Kaline and Lou Brock; basketball players Walt<br />
Frazier, Bob Cousy, Oscar Robertson (signed “Big O”) and John Havlicek;<br />
football players Gale Sayers, Lenny Moore, Steve Van Buren, and Ollie Matson;<br />
tennis players Don Budge and Bobby Riggs; and wrestler Bruno Sammartino.<br />
The back cover of the second program has been signed by<br />
baseball players Willie Stargell and Leo Durocher; hockey players Phil Esposito,<br />
Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull; basketball players Walt Frazier and<br />
Rick Barry; Olympic track and field stars Jim Ryun, Bill Toomey and Bob Seagren;<br />
first-ever champion of the U.S. Women’s Open golf tournament Patty<br />
Berg; and football player Kyle Rote.<br />

The trophies feature marble bases, plastic centers, with a<br />
plastic golf player affixed to the top of each trophy. Affixed to<br />
the base of the trophy are engraved plaques that read “1st Annual<br />
Joe Morgan Invitational/ 2nd place” and “1st Annual Joe<br />
Morgan Invitational/ -1982-/ Celebrity 2nd place.”<br />

CLASSIC GROUP<br />
A group of items presented to Elgin Baylor by<br />
the Riviera of Las Vegas Hotel for participating<br />
in the Hall of Fame Golf Classic in 1981 and 1982. The group includes a<br />
wood binder that features an engraved “Riviera Golf Classic” logo and contains<br />
two group photographs with Baylor. The cover of the binder is signed by<br />
Baylor in silver marker. The second item is a wood-encased push-button telephone<br />
featuring a hinged top and a “Riviera Hall of Fame” engraved metal<br />
plaque. Also included in the group is a 1981 Golf Classic souvenir program<br />
signed by Baylor in black marker, a 1981 Golf Classic schedule of events, and<br />
a 1982 Golf Classic souvenir program signed by Baylor in black marker.<br />

A group of commemorative plaques presented to Elgin Baylor by Bally’s<br />
Casino Hotel in 1982 and 1983. The 1982 wood plaque features color<br />
photographs of Baylor on the golf course that reads “Atlantic City’s<br />
Winning Address/ Bally’s/ Sports Legends 1st Invitational/ Golf Tournament/<br />
Atlantic City, October 21-22, 1982.” Also included is a commemorative<br />
plaque presented to Baylor in 1983 for attending the<br />
following year. The wood plaque features a photograph of those attending,<br />
including Baylor, Mark Spitz, Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Willie Mays,<br />
and Bobby Rigby. The plaque reads “Bally’s/ Salutes/ The ‘Greatest<br />
Sports Legends’/ October 6-9, 1983.” Additionally included is a commemorative<br />
plaque featuring Baylor on the golf course at the 1983<br />
event. Each plaque has been signed by Baylor in silver marker.<br />
