An Athlete of the Year plaque presented to Elgin Baylor in 1969 by the City of Inglewood, California.<br />
The wood plaque features a City of Inglewood ceramic tile and an engraved metal plate that reads<br />
“Presented to/ Elgin Baylor/ Inglewoods athlete of the year/ March 21, 1969/ Mayor William<br />
Goedike.” The Los Angeles Lakers held “Elgin Baylor Night” on March 21, 1969, at their home arena,<br />

from the City of Los Angeles, declaring March 21, 1969, as Elgin Baylor Day in Los Angeles. The<br />

Baylor/ is being honored in a special ceremony on Friday, March 21, 1969, at the Forum.” The second<br />
