ELGIN B<strong>AY</strong>LOR 1958 NCAA FINALIST RING<br />

A commemorative lustrium and red glass ring presented to Elgin Baylor for his membership on the 1958 Seattle University Chieftains basketball team. Baylor<br />

led the Chieftains to the 1958 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament championship game; his Chieftains fell short and lost in the final game, 84-72,<br />

to eventual champion Kentucky. Baylor was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. The ring is stamped LTM for the metal lustrium, centering<br />

one cushion-shaped red glass stone with an “S” in the middle representing Seattle University, surrounded by the words “NCAA 1958 FINALIST,” flanked on<br />

one side by the words “B<strong>AY</strong>LOR 22” and on the other side “CHIEFTAINS 03-22-58 24-7.” The inside of the shank is engraved “Elgin Baylor.” Size 13 1/2,<br />

25.7 grams.<br />
