ELGIN BAYLOR 1958 NCAA FINALIST RING
A commemorative lustrium and red glass ring presented to Elgin Baylor for his membership on the 1958 Seattle University Chieftains basketball team. Baylor
led the Chieftains to the 1958 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament championship game; his Chieftains fell short and lost in the final game, 84-72,
to eventual champion Kentucky. Baylor was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. The ring is stamped LTM for the metal lustrium, centering
one cushion-shaped red glass stone with an “S” in the middle representing Seattle University, surrounded by the words “NCAA 1958 FINALIST,” flanked on
one side by the words “BAYLOR 22” and on the other side “CHIEFTAINS 03-22-58 24-7.” The inside of the shank is engraved “Elgin Baylor.” Size 13 1/2,
25.7 grams.
