A framed tennis award presented to Elgin Baylor on May 25, 1974, by<br />

L&J Properties for Baylor’s contribution to the success of the new facilities<br />

at Valley Racquet Club. The award reads “An Organization Devoted to<br />

the Development of Tennis as a means/ of healthful recreation and physical<br />

fitness and to the/ maintenance of high standards of fair play and/<br />

sportsmanship.” The award is dated 25 May 1974, and to the left is a<br />

gold-embossed sticker with green, red and blue ribbons that reads “L&J<br />

PROPERTIES/ INCORPORATED/ APR. 9,/ 1974/ CALIFORNIA.” It is<br />

signed by the director of tennis and vice president of the Valley Racquet<br />

Club, “Dale Jensen,” in black ink. Framed.<br />
