SIGNED LITHOGRAPH<br />

A lithograph issued in 1997 and signed by 49 of<br />

the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players, presented to Elgin<br />

Baylor for his being named to the historic group. In<br />

conjunction with the NBA’s 50th Anniversary in<br />

1996, the NBA named its 50 Greatest Players, 49<br />

of whom were honored while present at the 1997<br />

NBA All-Star game in Cleveland, Ohio; Pete Maravich<br />

was the only player not present due to his<br />

death in 1988. To mark the occasion, the NBA produced<br />

the 50 Greatest Players lithograph featuring<br />

the images of the 50 players named to the group.<br />

To further mark the occasion, the NBA requested<br />

that the players sign 250 of the lithographs, which<br />

were individually numbered upon completion of the<br />

signing; the first 50 signed lithographs were dedicated<br />

and presented to the players in the group with<br />

this lithograph being dedicated and numbered “Baylor<br />

1/1.” The remaining lithographs were presented<br />

to NBA owners and executives, with a very small<br />

number sold to the public. The lithograph is signed<br />

by NBA legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (signed<br />

“Abdul-Jabbar”), Nate Archibald, Paul Arazin,<br />

Charles Barkley, Rick Barry, Elgin Baylor, Dave<br />

Bing, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Cousy,<br />

Dave Cowens, Billy Cunningham, Dave DeBusschere,<br />

Clyde Drexler, Julius Erving, Patrick Ewing<br />

(inscribed “33”), Walt Frazier, George Gervin (inscribed<br />

“Ice #44”), Hal Greer, John Havlicek, Elvin<br />

Hayes, Magic Johnson, Sam Jones, Michael Jordan,<br />

Jerry Lucas, Karl Malone (inscribed “32”), Moses<br />

Malone, Kevin McHale, George Mikan, Earl Monroe,<br />

Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O’Neal (inscribed<br />

“34”), Robert Parish, Bob Pettit, Scottie<br />

Pippen, Willis Reed, Oscar Robertson, David Robinson<br />

(inscribed “Prov 3:5”), Bill Russell, Dolph<br />

Schayes, Bill Sharman, John Stockton, Isiah Thomas,<br />

Nate Thurmond, Wes Unseld, Bill Walton, Jerry<br />

West, Lenny Wilkens and James Worthy. The lithographs<br />

is also signed by NBA Commissioner David<br />

Stern. The lithograph is accompanied by a Certificate<br />

of Authenticity housed in a leather bound folder<br />

and a VHS videotape documenting the signing of<br />

the NBA 50 Greatest Players lithograph. The lithograph<br />

is also accompanied by a color image of all<br />

of the 50 Greatest Players present at the 1997 NBA<br />

All-Star weekend. The image is signed “Elgin Baylor”<br />

in black marker. The lithograph is framed.<br />
