ELGIN BAYLOR DAVID ROBINSON
1987 LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS DRAFT
LOTTERY JERSEY
A Sand-Knit brand Los Angeles Clippers jersey
created by the Clippers for the 1987
NBA Draft Lottery. David Robinson was the
consensus number one draft pick heading
into the 1987 NBA Draft after completing
his college basketball career at the U.S.
Naval Academy. A lottery was held before
the 1987 draft in order to establish which
team would receive the right to select first
overall and thus earn the right to select
Robinson. The Clippers created this jersey in
the event they secured the number one pick,
but the San Antonio Spurs won the lottery.
The Clippers ended up with the number 4
pick in the 1987 draft. The white mesh jersey
features an arching Clippers logo on the
front with the number “50” below in blue
twill numbering. The back of the jersey features
“Robinson” in blue-on-red arched twill
lettering and a repeating number “50.” The
front left of the jersey features Sand-Knit tagging
in addition to “1”LB” tagging. Size 44.
