MURTAZA'S KILLERS TO BE BROUGHT TO BOOK:<br />

SHAH<br />

KARACHI, Oct 25, 1996: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Abdullah Shah has<br />

vowed that the mystery of the killing of Mir <strong>Murtaza</strong> <strong>Bhutto</strong> will be resolved<br />

and those involved will be brought to book in accordance with the law.<br />

He was speaking on the occasion of the Chehlum of Mir <strong>Murtaza</strong> <strong>Bhutto</strong> held<br />

at the Bilawal House on Friday under the auspices of the PPP, Sindh.<br />

The Sindh chief minister told a large gathering that the Crimes Branch was<br />

investigating the killing of Mir <strong>Murtaza</strong>. He said that on the directive of the<br />

Prime Minister a three-member tribunal headed by a Supreme Court Judge<br />

had been formed. Syed Abdullah Shah further stated that on the directive of<br />

the PM, the government of Sindh had also invited a Scotland Yard team. The<br />

six-member team will reach Karachi on Monday.<br />

"Being a chief minister it is my responsibility to get to the bottom of this<br />

tragedy and the people of the country as well as those of this province will be<br />

apprised of the facts," he said.<br />

Syed Abdullah Shah said the opponents of the party and the opponents of the<br />

<strong>Bhutto</strong> family wanted to sow the seeds of discord. He asked the people to<br />

frustrate all such conspiracies of opponents.<br />

The chief minister also paid tributes to Mir <strong>Murtaza</strong> <strong>Bhutto</strong> on the occasion.<br />

The president of the PPP, Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, in his speech on the<br />

occasion recalled the sacrifices of the <strong>Bhutto</strong> family for the cause of Pakistan<br />

and said this formed an important chapter of our history. He said the blood<br />

of the son of Zulfikar Ali <strong>Bhutto</strong> would not go waste. Syed Qaim Ali Shah<br />

said the facts would come before the people and those responsible for the<br />

killing would be brought to book. He said the need of the hour was that "we<br />

should forge unity in our ranks". Syed Qaim Ali Shah prayed to Almighty<br />

Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and<br />

fortitude to the bereaved family to bear the loss. He said: "We should also<br />
