The Chief Minister Syed Abdullah Shah had also come to the airport to<br />

receive the Prime Minister. The IB Chief had come to the airport in his own<br />

vehicle. The IGP Sindh Saeed Ahmed who had gone to his ancestral home at<br />

Peshawar had also returned and was at the airport at the time of the Prime<br />

Minister’s arrival here. He said, he accompanying the IGP Sindh followed the<br />

Prime Minister’s motorcade upto the Bilawal House.<br />

He said, he along with the IGP Sindh stayed at the Bilawal House for ten to<br />

fifteen minutes and were informed by the military secretary to the pm that<br />

she would be visiting the Mid-East Hospital to see her brother Mir <strong>Murtaza</strong><br />

<strong>Bhutto</strong> early morning. Accompanied by IGP Sindh, he went to the Bhopal<br />

House where the offices of the intelligence bureau are located with a view to<br />

informing the SSP South about the Prime Minister’s programme about her<br />

visit to the Mid-East Hospital.<br />

He said, he goes to the airport whenever the Prime Minister arrives here. At<br />

the airport, the IGP Sindh briefed the Chief Minister Sindh on the occurrence<br />

as had taken place earlier in the evening resulting in the demise of Mir<br />

<strong>Murtaza</strong> and his seven companions and bullet injuries to his party six<br />

workers. Mr. Sadal said, that on September 18, he met the Chief Minister and<br />

attended the meeting presided over by him (the CM) on the law and order<br />

situation. He briefed the CM about the arrest of the Sonaro and his statement<br />

he had given to the investigating police on the two bomb blasts. He also met<br />

the Governor Sindh on the same day as the Governor had to go to the<br />

hospital. Prior to the September 20th incident, one such meeting on law and<br />

order situation was held at the Chief Minister’s house but he did not recollect<br />

its actual date. To a question, he said, he normally goes to the airport<br />

whenever the Prime Minister visits Karachi. He said, he did not receive any<br />

written complaint about the demonstration staged by the PPP (Shaheed<br />

<strong>Bhutto</strong>) Group workers in front of the Zardari House near Avari Towers<br />

against Asif Ali Zardari some three to four days before the September 20th<br />

incident. He, had, however, come to know about the demonstration against<br />

Asif Ali Zardari through a story published in a section of Press.<br />

On September 20, the date of occurrence, he informed the Chief Minister<br />

Sindh Syed Abdullah Shah on wireless while he was at Dadu, at about 9.30<br />

pm. He said, he also informed the Chief Minister Sindh about the demise of<br />

Mir <strong>Murtaza</strong> <strong>Bhutto</strong> later on. To a question, he said that he was not related to<br />
