• FRACTURE CRITERION (group; part of DEBOND card)
• CONTROLS, TYPE=VCCT LINEAR SCALING (group)
Explicit interface:
• COHESIVE BEHAVIOR (group; part of SURFACE INTERACTION card)
• FRACTURE CRITERION (same as the above)
Improved Displacement System Support
The system card image shows now, to which node set it is assigned.
You can now unassign a node set, by either removing the TRANSFORM flag from the card image or by
assigning it back to the global system. This can be done from the System panel by selecting the global
system in the lower left side of the GUI.
Ply and Laminate Support
Both entities are now enabled for the Abaqus interface. More details are provided in the generic
HyperMesh section of these release notes and in the plies and laminate documentation of the
HyperMesh User Guide.
3D ply visualization including ply orientation is now supported for shells and continuum shells.
Laminate definitions can now be realized into Abaqus properties. Pre-condition is that a composite
property has to be assigned to the elements. Both, shell and shell general section definitions have
been enhanced to interact with ply and laminate entities.
Composites Panel
The normals subpanel in the Composites panel has been enhanced to support continuum shells
(currently only available in Abaqus interface).
• In addition to regular shell elements ‘display normals’ can now show the default stacking
direction of continuum shells based on their numbering scheme. This button does not consider
the STACK DIRECTION setting on the element property.
• ‘Display stack direction’ accounts for the STACK DIRECTION parameter setting of the element
property for review. Supported are the settings in all three isoparametric directions (1, 2, 3) but
also the system reference).
• Review options are the same as with regular shells: vector and color display.
• Two options to adjust the default stacking direction for continuum shells are available now:
Selected elements can either be adjusted by selecting a reference element or a user can specify
the base face by two diagonal or three base nodes.
Systems Panel
The assign subpanel of the Systems panel has a new option called attach nodes as set for the Abaqus
interface. Now a user can simultaneously assign nodes to a displacement system and simultaneously
create a node set.
Resolved Issues
• HM comments for *ORIENTATION have not been honored upon import when the system definition
is based on nodes or is defined without the origin.
