in the following domains: durability and fatigue, computational fluid dynamics, impact analysis,<br />

noise-vibration-harshness, electromagnetic analysis, 1D systems simulation, injection molding<br />

simulation, process structure interaction, composite modeling, stress analysis, material libraries,<br />

thermal analysis, complexity management, tolerance analysis, casting simulation and multi-body<br />

dynamics analysis.<br />

Ideation and Conceptual Design<br />

solidThinking Inspire<br />

solidThinking Inspire allows design engineers, product designers and architects to generate and<br />

investigate structurally efficient concepts quickly and easily. Inspire embeds Altair’s OptiStruct algorithms,<br />

bringing topology optimization to a broader audience. The technology generates the ideal design geometry<br />

for a given package space, material properties and loading requirements. Inspire is easy to learn and<br />

works with your existing tools to help you design structural parts right the first time, reducing design time,<br />

material consumption and product weight.<br />

New, exciting capabilities have been added in this release, including:<br />

• Sketch Lines, Rectangles, Circles and Arcs: Build simple design spaces by modifying or<br />

creating new solid parts using lines, rectangles, circles and arcs. Sketched geometry can be<br />

exported from Inspire in various formats, including Parasolid, STEP, and IGES<br />

• Boolean Operations: New solid objects can be created by performing Boolean operations to<br />

combine, subtract or intersect sets of objects<br />

• Frequency Targets: Design concepts can be optimized to maximize or meet specified frequency<br />

targets<br />

solidThinking Evolve<br />

solidThinking Evolve allows industrial designers to develop forms faster than before, using either Windows<br />

or Mac, from capturing an initial sketch to exploring styling alternatives and visualizing products with<br />

realistic renderings generated in real time. Evolve provides organic surface modeling and parametric<br />

control, with NURBS-based surfaces and solids and the unique ConstructionTree history feature. It frees<br />

designers from the constraints of engineering-oriented CAD tools, while allowing the export of digital<br />

models required by others in the product development process.<br />

Design Exploration<br />

Expand your horizon with <strong>HyperWorks</strong> design exploration tools, studying the available options in “whatif”<br />

scenarios with HyperStudy, understanding system behavior and performing automated complex<br />

calculations in HyperMath.<br />

HyperStudy is a multi-disciplinary design exploration, study and optimization software. Using HyperStudy,<br />

users can gain insight into their applications, make better design decisions and optimize the performance,<br />

reliability and robustness of their systems.
