HyperCrash
HyperCrash is a robust pre-processing environment, specifically designed to automate the creation of
high-fidelity models for crash analysis and safety evaluation. It supports both the RADIOSS and LS-DYNA
interfaces and their coverage keeps expanding.
HyperCrash 12.0 is an accumulation of 11.0 product updates containing new features, performance
improvements, bug fixes and new keywords support for RADIOSS and LS-DYNA.
HyperWorks Collaboration Tools
Simulation data organization and management are available via the HyperWorks Collaboration Tools, which
are seamlessly integrated within the HyperWorks Desktop environment and work out-of-the-box with no
additional installation or setup required. Collaboration Tools 12.0 includes many new updates over the
prior release, including new features and usability enhancements.
• Content labeling to associate groups of contents
• “Manage” files to seamlessly store them in Collaboration Tools during Save As or Export operations
• Browse a PDM system to selectively download and import needed CAD information
• Integration to MotionView client to organize and manage MDL files and other MBD-related contents
• “Recycle Bin” added for full “Windows-like” deletion and restoration or obliteration of contents
Analysis and Optimization
HyperWorks solver technology includes finite-element-based linear and non-linear structural analysis and
simulation capabilities (RADIOSS), thermal and fluid analysis (AcuSolve) as well as multi-body simulation
(MotionSolve). Combined with design optimization technology and multi-physics capabilities, HyperWorks
enables users to drive the product-development process and make reliable decisions based on high-quality
results.
With the HyperWorks 12.0 release, Altair continues a successful mix by adding new functionality to
accommodate customer needs and latest research results, combined with usability enhancements and
performance improvements by leveraging the latest computing technology.
Functionality
• Added functionality to RADIOSS to support automotive powertrain durability analysis and
optimization
• New transient heat transfer analysis, including thermal contact in RADIOSS
• Automotive extensions allow co-simulation with third-party components for multi-body analysis
(MotionSolve)
• Several new material laws and failure models for explicit and implicit finite-element analysis
(RADIOSS)
• Ffowcs-Williams-Hawkings acoustic solver added to the AcuSolve solution suite to predict noise
levels at distant microphone locations
• Introduced bidirectional coupling between AcuSolve/AcuTrace for run-time particle tracing
• New manufacturing constraints in OptiStruct for composite materials
