EiSENSTADT. The Library of Prince Esterhazy's<br />

castle contains much MS. inusic of the 1 8th<br />

and 1 9th centuries, amongst which are autogTaph<br />

symphonies and quartets by Haydn ; a series of<br />

masses (from c. 1770 to c. 18.30), including<br />

works by Haj'dn, Vogler, etc. , and many German<br />

and Italian operas.<br />

GuTTWEiG. The Library of the Benedictine<br />

Abbey contains two MS. collections of songs by<br />

Mastersingers of the 16th century, and a MS.<br />

collection of organ music by Claudio Merulo.<br />

Geatz. The University Library possesses<br />

Innsbruck. The University Library contains<br />

some rare early printed books on music,<br />

Canons contains liturgical MSS. of tlie 13th<br />

contains a legendarium of tlie 11th century,<br />

with music in neums; printed theoretical<br />

of printed music of the 16th and 17th<br />

Melk. Besides a few printed musical works,<br />

the Library of the Benedictine Monastery contains<br />

centuries, and a collection of MS. masses of the<br />

OLMiJTZ. The K. K. Studienbibliothek con-<br />

tains a copy of Schmid's Tabulaturbuch (1607),<br />

some printed music of the early 17 th century,<br />

and MS. graduals of the 1 3th and 1 4th centuries.<br />

Prague, a. The Chapter Library possesses<br />

copies of masses by Luyton (Prague, 1609, etc.),<br />

and a collection of sacred music of the late 16tli<br />

and early 17th centuries. Catalogue by Dr. A,<br />

b. Prince George Lobkowitz is the owner of<br />

MS. graduals and antiphoncrs of the ] 5th and<br />

16th centuries ; some rare hymnals of tlie<br />

Moravian Brethren ; a copy of N. Schmall's<br />

lute-book (1613), and a collection of Viennese<br />

libretti of tlie 17th century,<br />

c. The Library of Count Nostitz - Riemeck<br />

contains copies of the Frottole intabulate da<br />

sonare organi. Lihro Prvmo (Rome, 1517) ;<br />

the Canzoni Froitoli e Capitoli (Rome, 1531) ;<br />

and other printed works of the 16th and 17th<br />

centuries.<br />

d. The Library of the Premonstratensian<br />

Monastery of Strakow contains a small collection<br />

of music, chielly consisting of works of the late<br />

16th and early 17th centuries. Librarian:<br />

e. The church of St. Thomas contains a copy<br />

of Uberti's Contrasto Musico (Rome, 1630).<br />

/. The University Library contains MS.<br />

two Easter mystery plays of the 15th and<br />

16 th centuries; printed theoretical works of the<br />

16th and 17th centuries, and lute-books by<br />

Rauunitz. The Library of the castle of<br />

Prince Moritz Lobkowitz contains a rituale on<br />

vellum dating from about 1500.<br />

Renh. Tlie Library of the Cistercian Monas-<br />

Saaz. The Capuchin Monastery possesses<br />

some sacred and secular music by Orlando de<br />

Lasso, Scandelli, Joachim a Burck, etc.<br />

Salzburg, a. The Benedictine Abbey of<br />

St. Peter contains church music of the late 18th
