Material Description:
Water meter to have of (1) high capacity turbine
meter, (2) stainless steel strainer, (3)
detector check valve that w/a gravity induced
bronze clapper, (4) by-pass pipe line turbine
meter, (5) in-line check valve for the by-pass
pipe line, and (6) two bronze ball valves for
isolating the by-pass pipe line. Water meter to
have Class 125 flanged ends. Each water meter
making up the assembly shall be furnished with a
hermetically sealed register, electronic
communications register (ECR), encoder type w/an
odometer type display for visual reading in US
gallons. The register will read the position of
the number wheels on demand and shall not
require the use of pulse counters/accumulators.
Application:
The register shall be furnished with an Itron
ERT tailpiece (min 20 ft of cable), factory
connected and sealed for field attachment to an
Itron ERT "Pit Set" type radio transmitter. The
strainer housing and detector check valve
housing shall be cast iron or ductile iron
coated with 12 mils min of fusion bonded epoxy
inside and out. The components of the by-pass
pipeline shall be bronze.
