Material Description:
Tapping sleeve shall be fabricated from 304
(18-8) stainless steel, furnished with a
mechanical joint outlet gasket, a branch sealing
gasket, and a full circle shell gasket
manufactured from virgin Nitrile rubber. Tapping
sleeve shall be furnished with type 304 (18-8)
stainless steel bolts and nuts. A minimum of two
(2) bolts shall be longer, starter bolts. The
shell gasket and the branch-sealing gasket shall
be contained with stainless steel retaining
rings. Nuts shall be furnished with
fusion-bonded coating. Tapping sleeve shall be
factory hydrostatically tested on pipe to a
minimum of 300 psi with zero leakage allowed.
Application:
For use in tapping existing lines under
pressure.
