Launch latch position indicator: This is a micro switch that indicates the state of the launch lock. The<br />
contact on the switch can only be closed when the Shutter has returned to the open position and the launch<br />
lock successfully deployed.<br />

The powering, thermal control and the monitoring of the shutter sub-system are all carried out with the<br />
EGSE. When the EGSE is disconnected, the shutter is unable to be operated or controlled. The state of the<br />
launch lock indicator must be read out by the spacecraft housekeeping electronics.
