Wood Processing Cluster<br />

Wood Processing Cluster is one of the biggest regarding members – it units 66<br />

members in total, covering 63 companies and 3 R&D organizations. The companies<br />

are located in central and west Serbia. This cluster develops joint market activities,<br />

establishing a design award among students and apprentices in specialised<br />

vocational schools, etc.<br />

The South Serbia Alco-Cluster was established in June 2006. The Project "Formation<br />

and Development of South Serbia Alco-Cluster in the Function of regional Economic<br />

Development Strengthening” is financed by the European Union (EU) and realized by<br />

the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).<br />

The project goal is strengthening regional economic development through<br />

strengthening the developmental position of small and medium-sized companies,<br />

cooperatives associations and individual producers in the field of production,<br />

processing and marketing of alcoholic drinks. The user of the grant is Cooperatives<br />

Association Union of Jablanica and Pčinj County, and the partners are Regional<br />

Economic Chamber (REC) - Leskovac and the South Serbia Consumers' Association<br />

(SSCA) - Niš.<br />
