They were interrupted by Mrs. Ransom, who didn't
wait to be announced. She stood, sunglasses on, attired
in a cream turban and a Pierre Cardin suit, with a travel
bag over her shoulder.
"Hello, dear. Thank you, Irene. I'll sign these and
bring them out." The Ransoms looked at each other
until the door closed. "I thought you'd be resting," he
said.
