going? I'm surprised at…what's the matter?" Smalter,<br />

his blue magnified eyes riveted on the lawyer's,<br />

suddenly felt the anxiety impatient in Abernathy's face<br />

and suddenly thought of Judith Haig alone in her house<br />

on the highway's edge.<br />

"Ramona didn't seem to be feeling well at all earlier<br />
