Some agencies have eliminated or reduced the<br />

conspicuity of <strong>to</strong>ll violation warning signs in<br />

ETC lanes <strong>to</strong> discourage non-ETC drivers<br />

from s<strong>to</strong>pping and either backing up or<br />

exiting their vehicles <strong>to</strong> reach a staffed booth.<br />

Such signs should help <strong>to</strong> prevent drivers<br />

from exiting their vehicles in ETC lanes and<br />

attempting <strong>to</strong> walk <strong>to</strong> staffed lanes.<br />
