The number of discs in the longer ovary is 41 to 59, with a
mean of 47.7; in the shorter ovary the number is 31 to 52, with a mean
of 43.1. On an average the number of discs in the shorter ovary is 9.6
per cent smaller than in the longer-one. This difference is, however; not
