If we should vanish from the earth !
As sure as you're alive
The strongest minded of your sex
Could not for long survive.
We're dropping off, we masculines,
As statisticians show;
Fair ladies, do be warned in time
Before the remnant go.
Don't struggle, as you struggle now.
To snub and humble man,
But aid, exalt, and cherish him
By all the arts ye can.

S bright be the years of thy future, fair bride.
In all that is beauteous and best,
"As a sweet summer-day, whose sun seems to glide
Through seas of repose, to the west.
May he who has won thee in womanhood's morn
Be faithful and loving through life
;
And smiles of contentment for ever adorn
The home where he leads thee as wife
May storms of adversity pass o'er your heads.
Like blasts o'er the oak-shaded flowers.
Which, after the tempest, look up from their beds,
Eefireshed and revived by the showers !
