The wolf deYOuring the lamb ;
The greater crushing the less ;
Ambition, Interest, and Sham,
In the Bar, the Pulpit, and Press.
Pretension and wordy cram
In wisdom and learning's seat,
Scamping, shoddy, and sham,
Where ever we turn our feet
And crimes which cry to the great "I Am,"
For punishment sudden and meet.
0, world ! what
have you to give,
That is the thing which it seenis ?
0, justice ! where do you live,
Out of the kingdom of dreams ?
Shall I never rejoice at the sound of your voice.
Nor bask in your beautiful beams.
IS IT NOT BEAUTIFUL IN GOD'S WOELD?
UCH I have paced this world around,
And of its toil and care.
Its pains and sorrows, still have found
Mine own an ample share
;
But yet I've met in every sphere
A joy to charm, a friend to cheer.
When clouds above my head were dark,
When billows swept the deck.
