Signature Confirmation Service
Signature Confirmation service enhances the features found in Delivery
Confirmation service by providing signature proof of delivery for Priority Mail
items, First-Class Mail parcels, and Package Services items.
In addition to the delivery information provided by Delivery Confirmation
service, Signature Confirmation service provides:
The recipient’s first initial and last name.
A response letter containing an image of the signature faxed or mailed
upon request by visiting www.usps.com or calling 800-222-1811.
Waiver of Signature Service Option
Signature Confirmation service offers a
waiver of signature feature similar to what is
offered with Express Mail . This feature
allows mailers to receive proof of delivery
when the addressee or addressee’s agent is
not available to accept the item. It also
eliminates the need for the recipient to go to
the Post Office to pick up the item, as the
delivery employee will sign for the addressee
if the item can be left in a secure location.
Mailers who use this option will not receive a
copy of the signature image in the requested
response letter.

feature is available on
Signature Confirmation
ony when not combined
with any other special
service (i.e., Insured Mail,
Registered Mail, COD,
and special handling).
Mailers can request this feature by printing a WAIVER OF SIGNATURE
REQUESTED endorsement directly on the shipping label or package in
accordance with the requirements in the Domestic Mail Manual (DMM)
M012.4, which are shown in excerpted form in Exhibit 1. The endorsement
must be printed consistent with the requirements for the CARRIER RELEASE
endorsement.
