In <strong>2010</strong>, new groupwide sponsoring and donations guidelines were prepared. They will be taken into use during 2011.<br />
Total grants and community support in <strong>2010</strong> amounted to some EUR 1.2 million.<br />
<strong>Outokumpu</strong> does not take part in or otherwise support political activities whether they are local, communal or national.<br />
<strong>Outokumpu</strong> does not make donations to any political parties or groups.<br />
Dialogue with environmental NGOs continued<br />
In 2009, <strong>Outokumpu</strong> initiated a dialogue with environmental NGOs in Finland. In <strong>2010</strong>, the meetings with NGOs<br />
continued at corporate level including also a visit to the Tornio Works. Issues that were discussed included the carbon<br />
dioxide emissions and electricity sources of <strong>Outokumpu</strong>. Suggestions that were made from the part of the NGOs<br />
included procurement of ecolabel electricity and joining the Green Office environmental programme developed by WWF<br />
in Finland. A similar dialogue with NGOs will be started in Sweden.<br />
