Islington has maintained these original views and added to them over time. Protection across the whole of the local view needs to be maintained, requiring policy coordination between the City of London and Islington. It should be noted that there is a slight difference in height between the view the City protects and that Islington's policy protects for LV1 and LV2. The height difference is to enable greater control of the development in the foreground of these views, allowing a larger viewing area and enhancing the appreciation of this important and attractive landmark. 1.0.4 The only local view which has changed from Islington's 2002 UDP local views is LV1.
