ENGL 4495 Senior Thesis and Presentation. (3) every Spring<br />

English majors will write and present orally an original research project based on a significant topic<br />

in language or literature. Required of all English majors.<br />

Prerequisite: Senior standing.<br />

ENGL 4496 Internship. (1-3) on demand<br />

An opportunity for students to gain added experience and insight in approved off-campus<br />

settings. The internship cannot be counted as one of the courses required for the major or minor<br />

in English.<br />

Prerequisites: consent of the supervising instructor, department chair, and<br />

the Career Development Center.<br />

ENGL 4499 Independent Study/Research. (3) on demand<br />

This is an opportunity for students to conduct an individual, in-depth exploration of an area in<br />

literature, writing, or theory.<br />

Prerequisites: consent of the instructor, the department chair, and the Provost<br />
