TRANSACTIONS
• Selected as a third round (98 th pick overall) draft
choice by Atlanta in 2010.
• Placed on injured reserve on October 26, 2011.
2012 (FALCONS)
• Played in all 16 games with one start. Primarily
served as a reserve offensive lineman in the team’s
flex role.
• Lined up at tight end in the Falcons goal-line package
and caught a one-yard touchdown pass from QB
Matt Ryan at New Orleans (11/11). His first career
reception and touchdown.
• Helped block for RB Jacquizz Rodgers and RB Michael
Turner as the duo each ran for touchdowns in
a Week 12 win at Tampa Bay (11/25).
CAREER
• Has played in 18 games with one start in three seasons
with the Falcons.
EXTRA POINTS
• An active participant in the Falcons community
programs. During the 2012 offseason, participated
in a number of events, including an Atlanta Falcons
Gatorade Junior Training Camp in Sandy Springs,
an Easter Egg Hunt at Challenged Child & Friends
in Gainesville, and the 19th annual Atlanta Ronald
McDonald House Golf Classic at Cherokee Golf &
Country Club in Atlanta.
AUDIBLES
Johnson is one of 11 players on the Falcons roster to
have played in a collegiate national championship
game. He is one of nine players to win a national
championship in college (‘09 BCS).
COLLEGE
• The unquestioned leader of Alabama’s offensive
line who played both guard and tackle. Was an All-
America selection in his junior and senior seasons
(2008-’09).
• By the conclusion of his senior season, started in 41
consecutive games while setting the school careerrecord
by appearing in 54 contests.
• A member of the Crimson Tide’s 2009 National
Championship team while blocking for Heisman
Trophy winner Mark Ingram.
• As a starter, recorded 264 knockdown blocks, 39
touchdown-resulting blocks and 18 downfield
blocks.
PERSONAL
• Attended Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Florida
where he recorded a 4.0 GPA and was named a
four-star recruit by Rivals.com.
• Never missed a practice or weight room session
during his four years at Pine Forest.
• In 2010, a participant in the Atlanta Falcons Rookie
Club sponsored by UnitedHealthcare of Georgia,
this program gives the players the opportunity to
take part in several charitable events.
