• Originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent<br />

by the Detroit Lions on May 8, 2009.<br />

• <strong>Release</strong>d by the Lions in July of ‘09 and was signed<br />

by Minnesota on August 5. Was released by the<br />

Vikings following training camp and was signed to<br />

Houston’s practice squad on Sept. 24.<br />

• Was signed to the Atlanta practice squad on October<br />

21, 2009.<br />

• Signed a two-year contract extension with the <strong>Falcons</strong><br />

on March 4, 2013.<br />

2012 (FALCONS)<br />

• Saw action in 13 games as a core member of the<br />

<strong>Falcons</strong> special teams units. Recorded four special<br />

teams tackles and helped the <strong>Falcons</strong> post one of<br />

the NFL’s best coverage units.<br />

Smith is one of nine former Pahokee High School players<br />

to play in the NFL, including WR Anquan Boldin,<br />

CB Janoris Jenkins, LB Pernell McPhee, and Pro Football<br />

Hall of Famer LB Rickey Jackson.<br />

• Totaled 2,065 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns<br />

throughout his career at Florida State and was<br />

named a 2008 honorable mention All-ACC pick.<br />

• Was a Parade All-America selection and the Old<br />

Spice National Player of the Year.<br />
