TRANSACTIONS<br />

• Selected as a second round (60 th overall) draft<br />

choice by Atlanta in 2013.<br />

COLLEGE<br />

• Started 31-of-32 games at Southeastern Louisiana,<br />

recording 137 tackles (110 solo) with 20 passes<br />

defensed, 10 interceptions, six tackles for loss,<br />

three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.<br />

• Also added nine punt returns for 104 yards,<br />

including a 75-yard touchdown against Lamar<br />

University.<br />

• In 2012, was named the NCAA Football<br />

Championship Subdivision National Defensive<br />

Player of the Year by the College Sports Journal and<br />

added FCS All American honors from the NFL Draft<br />

Report and the Sports Network.<br />

• Also added first-team All-Southland Conference<br />

honors and was named a finalist for the Buck<br />

Buchanan Award in 2012.<br />

• In 2011, received second-team All-Southland<br />

Conference honors after starting all 11 games<br />

and notching 52 tackles (44 solo), seven passes<br />

defensed, five interceptions, one forced fumble and<br />

one fumble recovery.<br />

• His five interceptions in 2011 tied Billy Ladner (1961),<br />

Duriel Adams (2005) and Steve Keller (1969) for<br />

eighth on the school’s all-time single-season list.<br />

• Prior to redshirting the 2010 season, started nine<br />

of the 10 games he appeared in as a sophomore in<br />

2009. Finished the season with 46 tackles (31 solo),<br />

five passes defensed, two fumble recoveries, and<br />

one interception.<br />

Alford is the first player from Southeastern Louisiana to<br />

be selected in the NFL Draft since the school reintroduced<br />

its football program in 2003.<br />

PERSONAL<br />

• Attended Hammond (La.) High School where he<br />

earned All-District 7-5A first-team honors after<br />

catching 10 touchdown passes as a senior.<br />

• Also ran track, taking second in 400-meters at the<br />

2007 Louisiana High School Athletic Association<br />

Track and Field Championships.<br />

• His older brother, Fred Booker, was a cornerback<br />

at Louisiana State and played in the Arena Football<br />

League and NFL Europe before suiting up for 12<br />

games with the New Orleans Saints in 2005.<br />

• His other older brother, Duke Adams, was a safety<br />

for the Southeastern Louisiana Lions from 2003-<br />

06 and earned All-Southland Conference recognition<br />

as a junior<br />

• Became the first player from Southeastern Louisiana<br />

University to play in the Senior Bowl in over 40<br />

years.<br />

• Logged a 4.39 40-yard dash, 1.59 10-yard dash,<br />

2.57 20-yard dash, 4.23 20-yard shuttle, 6.89<br />

three-cone drill at the NFL Scouting Combine. Also<br />

posted a 40’ vertical leap, 17 reps of 225 pounds an<br />

mesured with 31 3/8-inch arms, 9 3/8-inch hands,<br />

and a 74 ½-inch wingspan.<br />
