2. “Manage trail use in a manner that limits conflicts between various user groups: hikers, mountain<br />
bikers, and horseback riders.”<br />
3. “ATV use, currently prohibited at the <strong>Cove</strong>, should continue to be banned in the future.”<br />

9. “Inform trail users of erosion hazards and encourage them to observe ‘Leave No Trace’ guidelines.”<br />

3. “Establish inspection and maintenance guidelines for roads, parking lots, trails, and other types of<br />
infrastructure in the park.”<br />

1. “Parking for cars at Timber View Road and a trailhead facility should be evaluated.”<br />
2. “Evaluate existing toilet facilities at the Bennett Springs picnic area and consider re-opening them for<br />

“Develop interpretive trails, including displays explaining the history and resources of the park.”<br />

The <strong>Trail</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> Task Force developed the following goals and objectives for the trail<br />
system at <strong>Carvins</strong> <strong>Cove</strong> Natural Reserve.<br />
Goal:<br />
To provide a sustainable network of trails which provides quality and safe nonmotorized<br />
trail opportunities year round, allows users to enjoy the natural<br />
environment in ways which fulfill their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs,<br />
and protects the natural resources and watershed resources while providing<br />
these opportunities.<br />
Objectives:<br />
To provide opportunities for multiple modes of travel, including hiking,<br />
mountain biking, and horseback riding.<br />
To provide sustainable trails.<br />
To provide trails with a range of difficulties, serving users with varying skills.<br />
