Vowel-Consonant -’e’, ‘ee’, and ‘ea’ Chart Review<br />

• Draw a chart with two columns on the chalkboard: one for the short vowel<br />

spellings and one for the long vowel spellings.<br />

• Write the word met in the left-hand column.<br />

• Have students pronounce this word.<br />

• Ask students what happens if you add an ‘e’ to the middle of met.<br />

• Students should say meet. If they do not, write meet in the right-hand column<br />

and ask students to pronounce the word.<br />

each sentence with the best word from the word bank.<br />

• Have students turn to Worksheet PP20.<br />

• Ask students to read all of the words first. Then tell students to color the ‘oy’<br />

spellings blue and the ‘oi’ spellings green.<br />
