Two additional boxcores were taken in transit from <strong>the</strong> Porcupine Seabight to <strong>the</strong><br />

Porcupine Bank to groundtruth anomalies on <strong>the</strong> Geological Survey of Ireland National<br />

Seabed Survey multibeam coverage. <strong>The</strong>se were potential carbonate mounds<br />

although box-coring found no evidence to support this and both appear covered by<br />

hemipelagic muds.<br />

Core target, summit of seamount in a newly discovered cluster.<br />

Sandy <strong>with</strong> a Thalassinid burrow. High silt content and numerous polychaetes and amphipods. Coarse<br />

fraction (>1mm) quite shelly. Shrimp.<br />
