Recent sedimentation in <strong>the</strong> Porcupine Seabight consists mainly of (hemi)pelagic and<br />

locally reworked successions. Previous studies showed that <strong>the</strong> uppermost sedimentary<br />

layer mostly consists of Holocene foraminiferal sands, representing <strong>the</strong> interglacial<br />

sedimentary environment, followed by several meters of silty clays deposited during<br />
