All <strong>the</strong>se samples will be processed in <strong>the</strong> home laboratories of MPI and AWI. We will<br />

compare oxidation rates obtained by numerical modeling of changes in pore water<br />

concentrations of methane and sulfate to <strong>the</strong> measurements <strong>with</strong> radioactive tracer,<br />

as well as to measurements obtained <strong>with</strong> in situ instruments (chamber lander and<br />
